Sel suvel toob Rotermanni kvartal pealinlasteni eheda Eesti toidu turu. Alates 29. maist on kodumaise toidu sõpradel põhjust seada sammud iganädalaselt neljapäevast laupäevani Rotermanni kvartalisse, kus kella 8-15 majutab kobarkino taga asuv Rotermanni väljak avaturgu. Korraga on kauplemas kuni 20 müüjat. Kui turg ostjate poolt hästi vastu võetakse, on plaanis ka laieneda. Turukaup on eestimaine, pärit erinevatest taludest ja tootmisüksustest üle Eesti. Müügile tulevad liha- ja kalatooted, pagari- ja piimatooted ning hooaja jooksul ka erinev puu- ja köögivili. Osa müüdavast kaubast on ka väetisevabalt kasvatatud mahetoodang. Kaup on rangelt ainult kodumaist päritolu. “Lugu on küllap igaühele tuttav: olen pidanud kõvasti vaeva nägema, et saada talveks Eesti sibulat ja jõululauale lammast. See saigi otsustavaks – tuli ise tegutsema asuda, et olukord muutuks ning erinevais Eesti paigus tootetav toit ühte kohta kokku tuua. Teiseks ajendiks oli muidugi soov Eesti talunikele turustusväljundit pakkuda,” selgitas turu loomise tagamaid Rotermanni 3 turu projektijuht Merilin Pärli. Rotermanni 3 turg on ilus ja puhas avaturg, kus kaupa müüakse ühtse ilmega ratastel kärudest, kõigil müüjatel on ühesugused põlled ja pearätid, mille on disaininud Katrin Kuldma. Turuhooaeg kestab septembri lõpuni, sealt edasi on plaanis jätkata aasta lõpuni harvemini toimuvate eriturgudega. Korraldajad ootavad ka häid vihjeid võimalike talunike kohta, kes võiksid turul oma kaupa pakkuda. Eheda Eesti toiduturu loomist toetab ka telekokk Anni Arro. “Mul on aga ülimalt hea meel, et lõpuks ometi on Eestis päris oma tooraine turg. Kaup on otse tootjalt, värske ning puhas. Turuplats asub linnasüdames, mis teeb šoppamise eriti hõlpsaks. Ütleme nii, et „lõpuks ometi!!!“,“ tunnustas Arro. Rotermanni 3 turu ametlik avamine toimub 29. mail kell 12, turupäev ise algab aga ikka kaheksast. Värskeim info kauplejate ja kauba kohta jõuab jooksvalt turu kodulehele www.rotermanniturg.ee, mis avatakse mai teises pooles. Turuplatsi äärde tuleb ka rattaparkla ning korralik laste mänguväljak.
